Emerging Church
I have an ongoing interest in how people resist and reject conventional institutional structures in search of a more personal and authentic structure. In my dissertation, I examined the Emerging Church as an example of what I term “resistant organizations.” One of the articles, about religious professionals was published in Sociological Inquiry and can be found here: http://onlinelibrary.wiley.com/doi/10.1111/j.1475-682X.2010.00350.x/full. The bulk of the work, however, will appear in August 2012 on Lynne-Reinner/First-Forum press in book titled The Emerging Church: Religion at the Margins.
